Sore Throat Concoction for Prevention and Treatment of Sore Throat due to Cold virus or bacterial Strep infection

The recipe works. It fights any infection bacterial, viral, or fungal:


½ c. BRAGG Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother

½ c. honey (or less)

¼ c. fresh-squeezed lemon juice

½ - 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder

1 clove garlic, freshly minced

½ tsp ginger powder, or fresh ginger root minced (optional)

2 c. cold water


Mix in a glass quart jar. Secure with lid. Refrigerate. 

IMMEDIATE ACTION - At first sign of infection or sore throat:

  1. Drink 8-16 oz water (to boost the immune system by staying well hydrated )

  2. Shake or stir Sore Throat Concoction

  3. Gargle 2-3 tsp for 30 sec then swallow

  4. Gargle a 2nd 2-3 tsp for 30 sec then swallow.  

  5. Wait 10 minutes before eating or drinking to allow the cayenne/ACV to sit on the tonsils and back of the throat

Depending on the severity of symptoms, Repeat every 30-60 min during the day and, if up at night, gargle in the middle of the night for the first 24-48 hours of the sore throat



To prevent the recurrence of sore throat, Gargle 2-4x/day for the next 10 days (instructions similar to taking a prescription of antibiotics - 2x/day for 10 days - but without the visit and payment to the doctor and the terrible side effects of systemic antibiotics )



PREVENTION ACTION - There is also the option of taking this concoction regularly on an empty stomach 1-2x/day to increase the pH of the blood which aids digestion, strengthens the immune system, and fights any infection bacterial, viral, or fungal:
  1. Drink 8 oz water

  2. Shake concoction

  3. Gargle a Tbsp for 30 sec then swallow

  4. Gargle a 2nd Tbsp for 30 sec then swallow.  

  5. Wait 10 minutes before eating or drinking.

  6. Repeat 1-4 times a day 


My husband and I have 10 kids at home right now.  2 of them are toddlers and 8 of them attend public school. There is a wide range of sicknesses shared in our household. I have been a dental hygienist for 20 years. I can't work in people's mouths sniffling and coughing.
